About the Piece

Sometimes I’m drawn to an image without having a deeper reason for it, and Hold Me Close was one of those pieces. There was something about the placement of the hand against the back that caught my attention and made me want to paint it.

I love that such a simple gesture can feel so intimate without needing to tell you exactly what is happening or who the people are. It leaves the feeling of the moment open to whoever is looking at it, whether they see closeness, comfort, desire, or something completely their own.
