About the Artwork

Something to Take the Edge Off came from a feeling I think a lot of people can relate to. Sometimes you just need a little time to yourself to shut everything else out and let some of the stress go.

There’s something about sitting alone, smoking, and just taking time for yourself that gives you a chance to slow down and get out of your head for a little while. No expectations, no one needing anything from you, just a quiet moment to yourself. That feeling of finally being able to relax and take the edge off is what I see in this piece.
